Quality Refrigerated Services is investing in the future of cold storage and meat processing — and that starts with technology.
This July, QRS created a new corporate-level role dedicated entirely to IT and AI/ML solutions development, and brought on Blake Findell to fill it. It's a newly created position, built from the ground up rather than folded into an existing job, reporting directly into the Processing leadership team.
The reasoning is straightforward: as the cold chain and processing industries grow more dependent on accurate data, automation, and connected systems, having dedicated in-house technical expertise isn't a luxury — it's infrastructure. Blake brings over 20 years of software development experience, with a background in JavaScript and Node.js, and is actively building out certifications in AI engineering and cloud architecture to match.
Since starting, the focus has been on exactly what you'd expect from a role built from scratch: assessing where QRS's systems stand today, and building the tools, integrations, and infrastructure to support where the company is headed — from internal operations to the tools our customers and team members interact with every day.
